Free underwriting check
See your store the way an underwriter sees it.
Merchants in regulated categories usually find out what the underwriter objected to after the decline, when they are already on a five-year MATCH listing and the acquirer will not say why. The criteria are not secret. This runs them against your public site, before you apply.
What we look at
- Your catalogue
- The products themselves, checked against the compounds named in LegitScript’s guidance for payment processors and the FDA’s compounding-impermissible list. We read product descriptions and web addresses too, not just titles, because a product sold under an abbreviation is still identified by what the page says about it.
- Your disclaimers
- Including the one most merchants get backwards. LegitScript’s own position is that saturating a site with “not for human consumption” makes a merchant more likely to be flagged, not less.
- Your policies and contact details
- Terms, privacy, refunds, shipping and a contact route, judged the way a reviewer judges them: reachable from the homepage, not merely existing somewhere. These are the cheapest declines to fix and among the most common.
- Your claims
- Disease and efficacy language that can sink an application on its own, whatever you sell.
What it cannot tell you
Underwriting also weighs your processing history, chargeback ratio, corporate documents, the people behind the business and the acquirer’s own appetite on the day. None of that is visible from outside a website, so a clean result here is a good sign and not a promise. We cannot guarantee that any processor approves you, or keeps you. That is true of anyone who tells you otherwise, too.
This speaks only to payment approval. Whether what you sell is lawful where you ship it is a question for a qualified attorney, and we are not one.
