Can I sell kratom on Stripe, Shopify Payments or PayPal?
Not one of the three names kratom anywhere. It is also banned outright in several US states and unscheduled federally, which means the payments question and the legality question have different answers depending on where the parcel goes. Processors resolve that ambiguity by declining.

Stripe
Not namedAbsent from the policy entirely. This is not permission: it hands the decision to an underwriter, usually after you have money on the platform.
“Pseudo-pharmaceuticals or nutraceuticals that are not safe or make harmful claims”
Absent from both Stripe lists. Applied through the nutraceutical safety clause, and kratom's regulatory profile makes the safety judgement an easy one for a reviewer to make against you.

PayPal

“narcotics, steroids, certain controlled substances or other products that present a risk to consumer safety”
Not named. The consumer-safety limb of this clause is the one that gets used, and it does not require kratom to be federally scheduled for PayPal to apply it.

No independent list. Judged by Stripe and PayPal against the clauses above.

What actually happens
Kratom merchants are shut off later than most, because nothing in the product data flags it automatically and the catalogue often reads as botanical supplements. The trigger is usually a chargeback cluster or a support ticket that puts a human on the site. Because the account has by then been running for months, the held balance is larger than it would have been at signup, which is the worst possible ordering.
What works instead
A specialist acquirer that writes kratom into the agreement, plus shipping controls that block the states where it is prohibited. State-level blocking is not optional politeness here: a processor that discovers you shipped into a ban has both a compliance reason and a contractual one to terminate, and no argument left to make on your behalf.

This page is about kratom as a category. Approval turns on your specific catalogue, your claims and your paperwork, and we will tell you where you stand whether or not it leads to work for us.
Both are free and neither is a sales call. The check asks for your web address and nothing else; the call is thirty minutes and ends with an answer whether or not it leads to work for us. Ready to start instead? Tell us what you sell.
