Can I sell supplements on Stripe, Shopify Payments or PayPal?
Supplements are the one category here where the clause is explicit, and it doesn't turn on what you sell. Stripe prohibits nutraceuticals that are unsafe or make harmful claims. An ordinary vitamin brand passes. Put disease language on the product page and the same brand doesn't.

Named directly, with two conditions you control. Most supplement declines have little to do with the supplement. They come from copy promising to treat, cure or prevent something, and one sentence like that turns a permitted product into a prohibited one.

PayPal doesn't name supplements as a category. With PayPal the risk here comes from chargebacks more than compliance. Subscription supplement businesses get disputes, and disputes are what put an account under review.

Shopify Payments

Shopify doesn't ban supplements. Its list bans products that make health claims no regulator has verified, so the product copy decides it. Stripe's permission and its two conditions apply on top.

What usually happens
For a clean brand, nothing happens and the account runs for years. Run free-trial-to-subscription offers and the chargeback ratio climbs to the card networks' monitoring thresholds, and the processor acts before the network does. Compliance and disputes are separate problems that end the same way.
What works instead
Most supplement merchants don't need a specialist acquirer. They need their product pages rewritten and their subscription terms spelled out at checkout. That costs less than a high-risk merchant account, and it fixes the thing that gets these accounts closed.
